Book Ashley Jensen
Ashley Jensen is a Scottish actress and narrator who has charmed audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. She is best known as the lovably awkward Maggie Jacobs opposite Ricky Gervais in Extras (2005-2007), a performance that brought her British Comedy Awards, a Rose d'Or and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. American viewers also know her as Christina McKinney on Ugly Betty (2006-2010). Born in 1969, Jensen trained with the National Youth Theatre and studied drama at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. Her early screen work included playing Billy Connolly's daughter in Down Among the Big Boys, roles in May to December and Roughnecks, and a stint on EastEnders. She went on to headline the cozy mystery series Agatha Raisin (2014-2022) and, since 2023, has led the crime drama Shetland as DI Ruth Calder. Her film credits include Topsy-Turvy (1999), The Lobster (2015) and the live-action Lady and the Tramp (2019). Jensen brings quick comic timing, Scottish charm and a gift for connecting with audiences to every appearance.
