Scooter Braun is an American businessman, investor and record executive who built a powerhouse management and media company in modern pop. He began by throwing parties while a student at Emory, planned after-parties for the 2002 Anger Management Tour with Eminem and Ludacris, and then became executive director of marketing at Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Records. In 2008 he discovered a thirteen-year-old Justin Bieber on YouTube and guided him to stardom, with credits on My World (2009), Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (2011), Under the Mistletoe (2011) and Believe (2012). He went on to sign Ariana Grande in 2012 and managed careers for the Kid Laroi, Dan + Shay, Demi Lovato, J Balvin and Ozuna among others. Braun founded Schoolboy Records, RBMG Records and SB Projects, later acquired by Hybe, co-founded TQ Ventures and Mythos Studios, helped found 100 Thieves, produced the film The Giver (2014) and executive produced the FX comedy Dave. A Grammy Award nominee, he entered the Midem Hall of Fame in 2019 and stepped back from artist management in 2024. He speaks about talent discovery, brand building and entrepreneurship.
