Book Sara Canning
Sara Canning is a Canadian actress who won a huge fan base as Jenna Sommers, the aunt who becomes legal guardian to Elena Gilbert and her brother, on The CW's supernatural hit The Vampire Diaries. Born in 1987, she began working in Vancouver-produced television, debuting in 2008 as Nicky Hilton in Paparazzi Princess: The Paris Hilton Story. Guest spots on Smallville and Kyle XY followed in 2009, along with the fact-based TV movie Taken in Broad Daylight. That year she also led the gothic period drama Black Field, playing Maggie McGregor, a film that premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival. Just weeks after wrapping that project, The Vampire Diaries was picked up to series. Canning went on to star as Dylan Weir in Primeval: New World and as Dr. Melissa Conner in the medical drama Remedy. On the big screen she appeared in War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), and streaming audiences know her as Jacquelyn Scieszka in A Series of Unfortunate Events. She brings warmth, wit and genre-fan credibility to conventions and live events.
