Book Ronny Cox
Ronny Cox is an American actor and musician from New Mexico whose screen career began with an unforgettable scene: in Deliverance (1972) he played "Dueling Banjos" on guitar opposite a young banjo player, and he won the part partly because he could actually play. A graduate of Eastern New Mexico University in theater, he went on to appear in Bound for Glory (1976) and starred in the family series Apple's Way, created by Earl Hamner. Movie fans know him best as a memorable authority figure in three big hits of the 1980s and 1990s: Beverly Hills Cop (1984), RoboCop (1987) and Total Recall (1990). More recently he appeared in Being the Ricardos (2021). Cox has published an autobiography about his Deliverance experience and has long kept up a busy second career in music, playing 100-plus shows a year at theaters and festivals by 2012. In 2019 he was inducted into the New Mexico Music Hall of Fame. He brings a singer-songwriter's set full of stories from a half century of Hollywood moviemaking.
