Book Randy Crawford

Randy Crawford is an American jazz and R&B singer with a warm, expressive voice and a recording career that stretched from the early 1970s into the late 2000s. She first built her reputation in New York in the mid-1970s, singing alongside George Benson and Cannonball Adderley, who featured her on Big Man: The Legend Of John Henry (1975). She signed with Columbia Records and issued her first single, "Knock On Wood," in 1972. In 1979 she fronted the Crusaders on the hit "Street Life," and she later dueted with Rick Springfield on "Taxi Dancing." Her solo catalog runs from Everything Must Change (1976) and Raw Silk (1979) to Now We May Begin (1980), with "One Day I'll Fly Away," Secret Combination (1981), Windsong (1982), Nightline (1983), Abstract Emotions (1986), Rich and Poor (1989) and Naked and True (1995). She found especially strong success in Europe and won Best British Female Solo Artist at the 1982 Brit Awards. Late in her career, Feeling Good (2006) and No Regrets (2008) brought her two Grammy nominations. Crawford retired from performing in 2018, leaving a catalog loved by soul and jazz audiences.
