Book Ozomatli
Ozomatli is a two-time Grammy-winning band from Los Angeles whose high-energy fusion of salsa, hip hop, funk, jazz and reggae has made them a beloved live act for three decades. Formed in 1995 in a community arts space that grew out of a labor organizing effort, the band took its name from the Aztec monkey symbol associated with dance, fire and music. Their self-titled debut in 1998 led to an opening slot on Santana's Supernatural Tour, and they took home the Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album Grammy twice, for Embrace the Chaos (2001) and Street Signs (2004). Later albums include Don't Mess With the Dragon (2007), Fire Away (2010), Place in the Sun (2014), Non-Stop: Mexico to Jamaica (2017) and Marching On (2022), along with the family album Ozomatli Presents Ozokidz (2012). They composed music for Happy Feet 2 and served as house band on Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand Up Revolution from 2011 to 2014. Ozomatli concerts are joyous, danceable celebrations with a big-band street-party spirit.
