Book Omi
Omi, born Omar Samuel Pasley, is a Jamaican singer from the parish of Clarendon who settled in Kingston after dancehall figure Clifton Dillon, known as Specialist, found him and signing to the independent label Oufah. He wrote "Cheerleader" in 2008 and released it in 2012, and it became a local favorite alongside "Take It Easy," "Fireworks" and "Color of My Lips," the last featuring Busy Signal. In 2014 Ultra Music relaunched "Cheerleader" with a tropical house remix by the German producer Felix Jaehn, and the song reached number one in several countries across Europe as well as Australia and became a worldwide hit. Signed to Ultra Music, Omi released his album Me 4 U in 2015. His easygoing island sound, bright melodies and relaxed, smiling stage manner have made his best-known song a singalong staple, and he brings Jamaican warmth and feel-good pop energy to every performance.
