Book No Justice
No Justice is a red dirt and Texas country band that got its start in Stillwater, Oklahoma, in 2001, growing out of a covers outfit that included guitarist Jerry Payne before the members began writing their own material and brought in Steve Rice on lead vocals and guitar. Their self-titled album No Justice (2006) and Far From Everything (2007) built a loyal regional following, and in September 2007 the band joined the famed Live at Billy Bob's series with a CD and DVD recorded at the Fort Worth honky-tonk. That live set gathered fan favorites alongside new songs and covers of U2's "With or Without You," Ryan Adams' "Shakedown on 9th Street" and Todd Snider's "Horseshoe Lake." After signing with Carved Records late in 2009, they released the harder-edged 2nd Avenue (2010), then returned to their roots on America's Son (2012), produced by Dexter Green. Built around Rice's gritty vocals and a twin-guitar attack, No Justice brings a rowdy, road-tested dance-hall show steeped in the sound of Oklahoma and Texas country.
