Book Mr Eazi
Mr Eazi is the Nigerian singer, songwriter and record executive who pioneered Banku music, a sound that blends Ghanaian highlife with Nigerian chord progressions. Born Oluwatosin Ajibade in 1991, he moved to Kumasi, Ghana in 2008 to study at KNUST, where he started out booking artists for campus parties before stepping to the microphone himself. His debut mixtape About to Blow (2013) yielded "Pipi Dance" and "Bankulize," and the Efya collaboration "Skin Tight" gave him an international audience. The 2017 mixtape Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1 – Accra to Lagos captured the two cities that shaped his music. His work has earned him honors at The Headies, the Soundcity MVP Awards and the WatsUp TV Africa Music Video Awards. He released his first studio album, The Evil Genius, in 2023, followed by Maison Rouge in 2025. On the business side he founded emPawa Africa, an initiative that funds and develops emerging African artists. As one of the figures who helped carry Afrobeats from West Africa to global stages, Mr Eazi brings both a hit catalog and a story of the genre's rise.
