Book Malcolm McDowell
Malcolm McDowell is an English actor, born in 1943, whose magnetic, often menacing screen presence has made him a cult icon since the late 1960s. Having started out as a Royal Shakespeare Company extra, he made his breakthrough as rebellious schoolboy Mick Travis in Lindsay Anderson's If.... (1968), a character he revisited in O Lucky Man! (1973) and Britannia Hospital (1982). That performance led Stanley Kubrick to cast him as Alex in A Clockwork Orange (1971), the role that defined his career. His long filmography includes Time After Time (1979), Caligula (1979), Cat People (1982), Blue Thunder (1983), Star Trek Generations (1994), Tank Girl (1995), Gangster No. 1 (2000), Easy A (2010), The Artist (2011) and Bombshell (2019), and he played Dr. Samuel Loomis in Halloween (2007) and its 2009 sequel. On television he appeared in Entourage, The Mentalist and Heroes and starred in Franklin & Bash, Mozart in the Jungle and Son of a Critch. His distinctive voice is heard in Superman: The Animated Series, Bolt and Fallout 3. In 2012 he was honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. McDowell brings wit, legend and great stories.
