Book Lawrence O'Donnell

Lawrence O'Donnell is an American television anchor, author, screenwriter and political commentator who hosts The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell, his weeknight news and opinion program on MS NOW. Few broadcasters bring his mix of Capitol Hill and Hollywood experience. From 1989 to 1995 he worked for Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, first as senior adviser and then as staff director of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and the Senate Finance Committee. He then became a key creative voice on The West Wing from 1999 to 2006, writing sixteen episodes, serving as executive story editor and even appearing as President Bartlet's father in flashbacks. He created and executive produced the NBC drama Mister Sterling and played the recurring role of Lee Hatcher on HBO's Big Love. As an author he wrote Deadly Force (1983), which became the 1986 television film A Case of Deadly Force with O'Donnell as associate producer, and Playing with Fire: The 1968 Election and the Transformation of American Politics (2017). He speaks with sharp insight on politics, media, policy-making and how Washington really works.
