Hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas, rapper Kari Faux is recognized for her bold fashion sense, laid-back conversational flow and witty, hook-driven songs. Her 2014 mixtape Laugh Now, Die Later earned a place on Pitchfork's list of overlooked mixtapes of that year and caught the ear of Donald Glover, who remixed her track "No Small Talk" for his mixtape STN MTN and later featured her on his 2016 album Awaken, My Love! Faux followed with the album Lost En Los Angeles (2016), the EPs Primary (2017) and Cry 4 Help (2019), and Lowkey Superstar (2020), a project recorded in London with producer Danio and expanded in a 2021 deluxe edition.
