Book Garrett Clayton
Garrett Clayton is an American actor and singer best known as Tanner, the cool, clueless surfer in the Disney Channel musical Teen Beach Movie (2013) and its 2015 sequel, Teen Beach 2. Born in Dearborn, Michigan, he caught the acting bug in his high school drama club and went on to study musical theater at Oakland University, adopting the stage name Garrett after casting directors told him his given name sounded too old. In 2010 he made appearances on Days of Our Lives and Shake It Up, and in 2012 he co-starred with Ralph Macchio in the Lifetime holiday movie Holiday Spin. Teen Beach Movie paired him with Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell and Grace Phipps when it premiered in July 2013. He also had a recurring role on the first season of The Fosters. In 2016 he played Link Larkin in NBC's Hairspray Live!, and he led the 2017 horror film Don't Hang Up. That year he also took the stage at the Pasadena Playhouse alongside Al Pacino and Judith Light. Clayton brings song-and-dance energy and Disney fan appeal to events.
