Book Fountains of Wayne
Fountains of Wayne is the New York power-pop band behind "Stacy's Mom," the witty, hook-filled hit that earned a Grammy nomination and became a staple of 2000s radio. Formed in 1995 by songwriting partners Chris Collingwood and Adam Schlesinger, who first met as college freshmen at Williams College, the group took its name from a lawn-ornament shop in Wayne, New Jersey. Guitarist Jody Porter and drummer Brian Young completed the classic lineup after the debut album. The catalog runs from Fountains of Wayne (1996) and Utopia Parkway (1999) to the breakout Welcome Interstate Managers (2003), which also brought a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, followed by Traffic and Weather (2007) and Sky Full of Holes (2011). Known for sharp, character-driven lyrics set to bright guitars and big harmonies, the band stepped away in 2013. The surviving members came together for a tribute benefit concert in 2020 honoring Schlesinger, and they reunited for live shows in 2025, bringing their sing-along catalog back to the stage.
