Book Empire of the Sun
Empire of the Sun, an electronic duo from Australia, began in 2007 with Luke Steele of the alternative rock band The Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of the dance band Pnau. Their debut album Walking on a Dream in 2008 carried the title song, "We Are the People" and "Standing on the Shore," and they followed with Ice on the Dune in 2013, Two Vines in 2016 and Ask That God in 2024. The duo is known for elaborate costumes, headdresses and fantasy visuals that make concerts feel like a theatrical spectacle. Steele and Littlemore bring different musical backgrounds, rock songwriting and electronic production, to melodic synth-pop that has found fans at festivals worldwide. Live shows pair dancers, lights and set design with polished synthesizer songs and soaring vocals from the front of the stage.
