Book Damon Hill
Damon Hill is a British racing champion and broadcaster who won the 1996 Formula One World Drivers' Championship with Williams. The son of two-time world champion Graham Hill, he is one of only two sons of a Formula One title holder to take the title himself, alongside Nico Rosberg. He began on motorbikes in 1981 before switching to single-seaters, joined Williams as a test driver in 1992 and was promoted to the race team the next year, scoring his first win at the 1993 Hungarian Grand Prix. Through the mid-1990s he went wheel to wheel with Michael Schumacher in some of the sport's fiercest title fights, then sealed his championship in 1996 with eight victories. In all he won 22 Grands Prix, and in 1998 he delivered the Jordan team its first ever win before stepping away from racing after the 1999 season. His honors include the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award in 1994 and 1996, the Segrave Trophy and an OBE. Hill later led the British Racing Drivers' Club from 2006 to 2011, helping secure Silverstone's long-term Grand Prix future, and has worked as a Sky Sports F1 pundit.
