Book Alain Prost

Alain Prost is a French racing legend and four-time Formula One World Drivers' Champion, nicknamed "the Professor" for his calculating, precise style behind the wheel. Born in 1955 in Lorette, he began karting at 14, won the junior karting World Cup four years later and swept through French and European junior formulas, capped by the 1979 European Formula 3 title. He reached Formula One with McLaren in 1980, then joined Renault, taking his first Grand Prix win at his home race in France in 1981. Back at McLaren, he became France's first World Champion in 1985 and defended the crown in 1986. He also drove for Ferrari and Williams before stepping away in 1993, at which point he held the records for most wins, with 51, as well as most fastest laps and podiums. Prost later founded his own team, Prost Grand Prix. His honors include induction into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1999 and being named a Knight of the Legion of Honour. He brings championship insight and motorsport history to every audience.
