Book Connie Stevens

Connie Stevens is an American actress and pop singer who became one of the brightest young stars of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Born in Brooklyn to musician parents, she moved to Los Angeles as a teenager and made her film debut in Young and Dangerous (1957), followed by Eighteen and Anxious that same year. In 1958 she released her debut album, Concetta, and appeared opposite Jerry Lewis in the musical comedy Rock-A-Bye Baby and in The Party Crashers. Television fame came in 1959 when she began playing the bubbly Cricket Blake on the ABC detective series Hawaiian Eye, alongside Robert Conrad and Anthony Eisley. At the same time she scored a major hit with "Sixteen Reasons" (1960), which climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Through the 1970s and 1980s she kept working in film and television while also headlining as a nightclub singer, and she won a Theatre World Award in 1967. Later screen roles include Tapeheads (1988) and Love Is All There Is (1996). In 2009 she wrote, produced and directed the film Saving Grace B. Jones. She is honored with her own Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
