Book Chance the Rapper
Chance the Rapper won three Grammy Awards in a single night in 2017, including Best New Artist, and his mixtape Coloring Book became the first streaming-only release to take Best Rap Album. Born Chancelor Bennett in Chicago, he built his following independently with the mixtapes 10 Day and Acid Rap (2013), the latter making him a leading voice in Chicago hip-hop and a model for unsigned artists. Coloring Book's single "No Problem," featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, took the rap performance Grammy, and his trophy case also holds three BET Awards and a Soul Train honor. His debut album, The Big Day (2019), reached number two on the Billboard 200, and his second album, Star Line, arrived in 2025. As a featured artist he appears on Kanye West's "Ultralight Beam" and DJ Khaled's chart-topping "I'm the One." He is a member of the Chicago collective Savemoney and a lead vocalist for the band the Social Experiment. On television he judged Netflix's Rhythm + Flow, coached on The Voice and earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for writing "Last Christmas," performed when he hosted Saturday Night Live in 2017.
