Book Buddy Guy
Buddy Guy is an American blues guitarist, singer and Chicago blues pillar. After performing in Baton Rouge in the 1950s, he moved to Chicago in 1957, fell under the influence of Muddy Waters, and worked as a session guitarist at Chess Records in the 1960s, while also forming a long partnership with harmonica great Junior Wells, featured on Hoodoo Man Blues (1965). His fiery, unpredictable playing shaped players from Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page and John Mayer. His comeback album Damn Right, I’ve Got the Blues (1991) opened a celebrated later career that includes Feels Like Rain (1993), Slippin' In (1994), Living Proof (2010), Born to Play Guitar (2015), The Blues Is Alive and Well (2018), The Blues Don't Lie (2022) and Ain’t Done With the Blues (2025), which won the Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album. In all he has won nine Grammy Awards from 16 nominations. Guy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 and has received the National Medal of Arts and the Kennedy Center Honors. He also appeared in Sinners (2025) and is an electrifying, crowd-thrilling live performer.
