Book Bowzer's Rock N Roll Party
Bowzer's Rock N Roll Party is the live oldies show led by Jon "Bowzer" Bauman, the Brooklyn-born singer who became a pop culture icon as the greaser of Sha Na Na. A trained pianist who began studying at Juilliard at twelve and later graduated from Columbia University, Bauman sang with Sha Na Na from 1970 to 1983 and was a featured star of the group's TV comedy and variety series from 1977 to 1981. His Bowzer character, with the muscle shirt, slicked hair, flexing pose and the catchphrase "Grease for Peace!", made him instantly recognizable, and he appeared with the band in the 1978 film Grease. Bauman also became a game show regular on Match Game and Password Plus, hosted The Pop 'N Rocker Game and the Hollywood Squares half of the Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour, and was one of the early VJs on VH-1. His screen credits run from Miami Vice to voice work on Animaniacs, and his company produced the A&E series The Golden Age of Rock 'n' Roll. The Rock N Roll Party brings that doo-wop and early rock spirit to the stage with humor and sing-along classics.
