Book Blitzen Trapper
Blitzen Trapper is an experimental country, folk and rock band from Portland, Oregon, led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Eric Earley and known for literate songwriting wrapped in rootsy, adventurous arrangements. Formed in 2000, the group self-released its first three albums, Blitzen Trapper (2003), Field Rexx (2004) and Wild Mountain Nation (2007), the last of which won wide critical praise, and its title song landed on Rolling Stone's list of the best songs of 2007. After signing with Sub Pop that summer, the band released Furr in 2008; Rolling Stone ranked it No. 13 among the year's best albums and placed the title track at No. 4 among its best singles. Destroyer of the Void (2010) and American Goldwing (2011) continued the run, followed by VII (2013), All Across This Land (2015), Wild and Reckless (2017), Holy Smokes Future Jokes (2020) and 100’s of 1000’s, Millions of Billions (2024). The band also issued Live In Portland and Live Harvest, a concert cover of Neil Young's Harvest. Live, Blitzen Trapper delivers harmonica-laced, guitar-driven Americana with a psychedelic edge.
