Book Beach House
Formed in Baltimore in 2004, the dream pop duo-turned-trio Beach House began with vocalist and keyboardist Victoria Legrand and guitarist and keyboardist Alex Scally, with drummer James Barone joining as an official member in 2022 after years on tour with them. Critics widely credit the band with renewing dream pop for a new generation. International attention arrived in 2006 when "Apple Orchard" was featured in Pitchfork's Infinite Mixtape series, and the self-titled debut Beach House came out that October. Devotion (2008) became their first Billboard 200 entry, and after signing with Sub Pop they released Teen Dream (2010), widely seen as their breakthrough. Bloom (2012) reached number seven on the Billboard 200, and in 2015 they issued two albums, Depression Cherry and the surprise release Thank Your Lucky Stars. 7 (2018) marked a shift in sound, and the 2015 track "Space Song" found a huge new audience online in 2021. Their eighth album, Once Twice Melody (2022), was released in four chapters. Live, Beach House delivers hypnotic, atmospheric sets of layered keyboards, shimmering guitar and Legrand's smoky voice.
