Book Artem Chigvintsev

Born in Russia and now American, Artem Chigvintsev is a professional dancer who specializes in Latin styles, known for his television work and his background in touring dance productions. He was a cast member of Burn the Floor, the high-energy ballroom show, performing with it on Broadway and in London's West End in 2009. In 2010 he moved straight from that production to Strictly Come Dancing and won the series in his debut year with actress Kara Tointon, a feat few first-time professionals have achieved. The pair earned strong scores throughout, receiving the season's first perfect 10 for their paso doble and later posting a 39 for their Viennese waltz and rumba before defeating Matt Baker in the final. He returned to the show in later series, reaching the semi-finals with Holly Valance in 2011 and partnering presenter Fern Britton the following year. Chigvintsev is admired for his sharp technique, inventive choreography and ability to coach celebrities into confident performers. On stage he brings fiery Latin footwork, theatrical flair and a showman's charisma, giving audiences an up-close taste of championship-level ballroom.
