Book Alex Boyé
Singer, dancer and actor Alex Boyé, who is British-American, is known for fusing pop, gospel and African rhythms into joyful, high-energy performances. He began as a backup dancer, including for George Michael, and in 1995 became lead singer of the European boy band Awesome, which won a Capital Radio vocal competition, signed with Universal and scored top-10 singles across Europe from the album Rumors, sharing bills with Bryan Adams and MC Hammer. Going solo in 1999, he co-founded Soul Saints, which gave hymns such as Count Your Many Blessings a jazz and R&B spin. His solo albums include Testimony (2003), Spirit (2007), Be Still My Soul: Classic Hymns and Folk Songs (2009), My Christmas Wish (2010), African Gospel Inspirations (2016) and Coming to Amerika (2019). He signed with Wenrick-Birtcher Entertainment in 2013 and in 2017 won a Pepsi and Hard Rock Cafe contest that crowned him Rising Artist of the Year.
