Book White Reaper
Louisville, Kentucky, garage punk outfit White Reaper was known for loud guitars, big hooks and a fast, fun live show. Singer and guitarist Tony Esposito started the group with drummer Nick Wilkerson while they were still in high school, taking the name after spotting an all-white Grim Reaper prop at a Halloween store when they were 17. After the 2012 demos DEMO 2012 and WHITE AURA and a 2013 seven-inch featuring "The Cut" and "Conspirator," the lineup grew to include bassist Sam Wilkerson and keyboardist Ryan Hater. Signing with Polyvinyl Records in 2014, they released a self-titled EP and toured with Young Widows, followed by the debut album White Reaper Does It Again (2015). Guitarist Hunter Thompson joined in 2016, and The World's Best American Band arrived in 2017. In 2018 the band played South by Southwest and opened tours for Weezer and Billy Idol. Moving to Elektra Records, they released their major label debut You Deserve Love (2019) and Asking for a Ride (2023), later followed by Only Slightly Empty (2025) and Only Slightly Expanded (2026). Their catalog captures a band built for sweaty, sing-along rock shows.
