Book The Darkness

The Darkness are a hard rock band from Lowestoft, England,, formed in 2000 and famous for falsetto-driven, larger-than-life rock and roll. The lineup features brothers Justin Hawkins on vocals and guitar and Dan Hawkins on guitar, with Frankie Poullain on bass and Rufus Tiger Taylor on drums. Their debut album, Permission to Land (2003), made them stars on the strength of "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" (2003), "Growing on Me", "Get Your Hands off My Woman" and "Love Is Only a Feeling". In 2004 they swept three Brit Awards, winning in the group, rock act and album categories. One Way Ticket to Hell... and Back followed in 2005. After parting ways in 2006, the original members announced a comeback in 2011, returning with shows that included Download Festival and, in 2012, the Isle of Wight Festival. They have kept the run going with Hot Cakes (2012), Last of Our Kind (2015) and Pinewood Smile (2017), plus the concert album Live at Hammersmith (2018). A Darkness show is pure theatrical fun, with soaring vocals, big riffs, flamboyant showmanship and a set full of glam-rock anthems fans love to shout along to.
