Steven Strait is an American actor and singer, born March 23, 1986, best known for playing James Holden, the principled captain at the heart of the acclaimed science fiction series The Expanse (2015-2022). Raised in New York, he modeled for publications including L'uomo Vogue and Details and worked with photographers such as Bruce Weber and Herb Ritts before committing fully to acting, training in New York at Stella Adler and at Black Nexxus. He showcased his music again by contributing seven songs to the soundtrack of Undiscovered, and went on to star as Caleb Danvers in the supernatural thriller The Covenant (2006) and as the young mammoth hunter D'Leh in 10,000 BC (2008).
