Book Stephen King
Stephen King is an author from Portland and Bangor, Maine, whose novels have defined modern horror and reached well beyond the genre. His career began with Carrie in 1974, followed by The Shining, The Stand, Pet Sematary, Misery and It, along with the eight-book Dark Tower fantasy cycle and crime fiction including Mr. Mercedes. Film and television adaptations such as The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile brought his stories to an even wider audience. His memoir and craft guide On Writing remains a favorite of aspiring authors. Honors include multiple Bram Stoker Awards, Locus Awards, the World Fantasy Award, an O. Henry Award, the Edgar Grand Master recognition and the Hammett Prize. King discusses where ideas come from, the discipline of daily writing, small-town life and the power of fear in fiction.
