Book Ryan Bingham

Ryan Bingham is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and actor whose music blends country, folk, rock and Americana. Born in 1981 in Hobbs, New Mexico, he grew up across the American Southwest and rode bulls on the rodeo circuit as a teenager. He learned to play on a guitar his mother gave him at 16, first performing for friends after rodeos and later in bars and honky-tonks across the West. He signed with Lost Highway Records in 2007, and his first two albums, Mescalito (2007) and Roadhouse Sun (2009), earned strong critical praise. Teaming with T Bone Burnett on music for the 2009 film Crazy Heart, he co-wrote and sang its theme, "The Weary Kind" (2009), which won the Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Critics' Choice prize in 2010, then a Grammy in 2011; Americana's top honor, Artist of the Year, also came his way in 2010. By 2019 he had released six studio albums and a live album, his later records issued on his own Axster Bingham Records, including American Love Song (2019) with the ballad "Wolves". Bingham brings gritty, road-worn storytelling.
