Book Rodrigo y Gabriela

Rodrigo y Gabriela are the Mexican acoustic guitar duo of Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero, whose explosive instrumental sound fuses flamenco technique with the energy of rock and heavy metal. The two met as teenagers in Mexico City and played together in the metal band Tierra Ácida before reinventing themselves as a duo. They built their career busking and gigging in Dublin, Ireland, where they spent their first eight years together before breaking through internationally. Their catalog runs from Foc (2001) and Re‐Foc (2002) through the breakthrough Rodrigo y Gabriela (2006), 11:11 (2009), Area 52 (2012) and 9 Dead Alive (2014). Mettavolution (2019) won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album at the 62nd ceremony, and they have since released In Between Thoughts…A New World (2023) and OurHome (2026). The pair have played major stages around the globe, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and played for President Barack Obama at a White House event. Live, two guitars and four hands produce a sound as big as a full band, with percussive strumming, lightning-fast runs and an audience-pleasing intensity that turns any room into a concert hall.
