Book Rob McElhenney
Rob McElhenney, who also goes by Rob Mac, is a multi-hyphenate comic actor, writer, director and businessman best known as Mac on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the long-running FX and FXX comedy he created and developed with Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton in 2005 and still writes and executive produces. He co-created the Apple TV+ workplace comedy Mythic Quest with Day and Megan Ganz and starred as game designer Ian Grimm from 2020 to 2025. Before Sunny, he worked his way up through small film parts in A Civil Action (1998) and Thirteen Conversations About One Thing (2001), bigger roles in Latter Days (2003) and The Tollbooth (2004) and a guest spot on Law & Order, while waiting tables between jobs. In September 2020 he and Ryan Reynolds bought Wrexham A.F.C., the historic club in Wales, a journey captured in the FX docuseries Welcome to Wrexham, which has earned him two Emmys as an executive producer in the unstructured reality category. On stage he brings irreverent humor, creative-entrepreneur stories and a front-row view of an underdog sports revival.
