Book Ricky Gervais

Born in 1961, English comedian, actor, writer and director Ricky Gervais is famous for cringe-comedy masterpieces and fearless stand-up. Together with Stephen Merchant he created, wrote and headlined The Office (2001–2003), Extras (2005–2007) and Life's Too Short (2011–2013), and he served as executive producer of the long-running American version of The Office, making cameo appearances. On his own he created, wrote and starred in Derek, the Netflix hit After Life and Alley Cats (2026), and he co-wrote and co-directed the film The Invention of Lying (2009). Before comedy he fronted the new-wave act Seona Dancing in the 1980s and managed the then-unknown band Suede, then built a reputation for biting wit on The 11 O'Clock Show and Meet Ricky Gervais. His honors include seven BAFTA TV Awards, five Golden Globes, two Primetime Emmys, two Rose d'Or awards and a spot on the Time 100, plus a Grammy nomination. He has hosted the Golden Globe Awards, beginning in 2010, and written the Flanimals children's books. Gervais brings razor-sharp, provocative and unforgettable comedy to any stage.
