Book Power Trip
Power Trip is a crossover thrash band from Dallas, Texas, formed in 2008 and recognized as a standout force in 2010s heavy music. Built on razor-sharp riffs, hardcore punch and pit-ready tempos, the group signed with Southern Lord Records in 2013 and released its debut album, Manifest Decimation, that year. The 2017 follow-up Nightmare Logic drew wide critical acclaim, landed on the Billboard charts and collected accolades from music publications, with lyrics tackling social inequality and activism. A live recording of "Executioner's Tax (Swing of the Axe)" earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance. Along the way Power Trip shared stages with metal and hardcore heavyweights including Ozzy Osbourne, Anthrax, Exodus, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Napalm Death, Lamb of God and Hatebreed. The lineup features guitarists Blake Ibanez and Nick Stewart, bassist Chris Whetzel and drummer Chris Ulsh, with vocalist Seth Gilmore fronting the band since 2023. Beyond its two studio albums, the catalog includes a live album and a collection of early recordings. The band delivers a ferocious, high-energy thrash show for heavy music audiences.
