Book Peter Attia

Peter Attia is a Canadian-American physician and author known for his work in longevity medicine and for the book Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity (2023). His career has taken an unusual path. From 2001 to 2006 he trained in general surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, then did two years of melanoma immunotherapy research at the National Cancer Institute. He next joined McKinsey & Company in Palo Alto, where his quantitative background moved him into credit risk work for large U.S. banks; in 2007 his team concluded that banks stood to lose more on prime mortgages in the next two years than they had earned in the prior decade, and he presented those findings to the leadership of a major bank. When his daughter was born, testing showed that Attia, though in his thirties and training hard, already showed risk factors for cardiovascular disease. That discovery reshaped his eating habits and turned his career toward preventing chronic illness. Attia speaks with clarity and rigor about healthspan, exercise, nutrition and practical strategies for living longer and better.
