Book Pentatonix
Pentatonix is the a cappella group from Arlington, Texas, that turned vocal harmony into a global pop phenomenon. Its five singers, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kevin Olusola, Kirstin Maldonado and Matt Sallee, create every sound with their voices, from lush harmonies and riffs to beatboxed rhythms, covering pop hits and holiday songs and writing originals. Formed in 2011, the group won the third season of NBC's The Sing-Off and then built a massive fan base on YouTube. Their EPs PTX, Volume 1 (2012) and PTX, Vol. II (2013) and the holiday release PTXmas (2012) came first, and after signing with RCA Records in 2014 they released PTX, Vol. III and That's Christmas to Me (2014), which set a modern chart high for a group's holiday album, unmatched since 1962. Their 2015 album Pentatonix, mostly original songs, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The group has won three Grammy Awards from five nominations, for their "Daft Punk" medley, "Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy" and "Jolene" with Dolly Parton. They joined Republic Records in 2025 and toured on the City Tour that year.
