Book Pendulum

Formed in Perth in 2002, Pendulum is a drum and bass band from Australia started by Gareth McGrillen, Rob Swire and Paul "El Hornet" Harding, who first worked together as a trio of DJs. Their first production, "Vault", came out in 2003 on 31 Records, and its reception among drum and bass fans prompted a move to London that same year. The lineup later grew to add KJ Sawka, Ben Mount and Peredur ap Gwynedd, turning the project into a full live band. Pendulum's signature sound fuses electronic production with the weight of hard rock. Their debut album, Hold Your Colour (2005), was greeted warmly by critics, and the follow-ups In Silico (2008) and Immersion (2010) pushed into industrial and electronic rock territory. Swire and McGrillen also created the side project Knife Party. Pendulum reformed in 2015, issued the remix collection The Reworks in 2018 and released the EPs Elemental (2021) and Anima (2023) before their fourth album, Inertia, arrived in 2025. Live, Pendulum deliver a thunderous blend of drum and bass energy, guitars and festival-scale production that bridges rave and rock crowds.
