Book Paula Deen

Paula Deen is an American chef, cookbook author and television personality whose Southern comfort cooking made her a household name. Based in Savannah, Georgia, she grew a home-based food business into a restaurant called The Lady, located in a Best Western hotel downtown. In January 1996 she and her sons, Jamie and Bobby Deen, opened their own restaurant, The Lady & Sons, on West Congress Street, later moving it to the historic White Hardware building on Whitaker Street, where it operated until July 2025. She self-published The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cookbook in 1997 and has since published fifteen cookbooks in all. Her television work earned her a Daytime Emmy Award. Deen also opened buffets at casinos in Mississippi, North Carolina, Indiana and Illinois, and co-owned Uncle Bubba's Oyster House in Savannah, later reopened as Paula Deen's Creek House. In 2015 she launched Paula Deen's Family Kitchen in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, followed by locations at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach in 2017, Nashville in 2020 and Panama City Beach in 2021. Deen brings a big personality, down-home humor and a lifetime of Southern hospitality to the stage.
