Book Patti Smith
Patti Smith is a singer, songwriter, poet, author and visual artist, born in Chicago and raised in New Jersey, who became the poetic voice of New York's punk scene. Her 1975 debut Horses, with its reworking of "Gloria," remains a landmark, followed by Radio Ethiopia, Easter, which includes "Because the Night," and Wave. Later albums include Dream of Life, with "People Have the Power," Gone Again, Peace and Noise, Gung Ho, Trampin' and Banga. Her memoir Just Kids won the National Book Award for Nonfiction in 2010, and she followed with M Train. She entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, and her other honors include the Polar Music Prize, the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize, the rank of Officer of the Legion of Honour and the 2026 Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts.
