Book Oscar Robertson
Oscar Robertson, "the Big O," is an American basketball legend and a strong candidate for the greatest point guard ever. After being named Indiana Mr. Basketball in 1956 and starring at the University of Cincinnati, he joined the Cincinnati Royals in 1960 and won NBA Rookie of the Year. In 1962 he became the first player to average a triple-double across an entire season, a feat matched only decades later. A 12-time All-Star, three-time All-Star Game MVP and 11-time All-NBA selection, he won the 1964 NBA MVP award. After moving to the Milwaukee Bucks, he helped deliver the franchise's first NBA championship in 1970-71. Robertson is a two-time Naismith Hall of Fame inductee, honored in 1980 for his career and in 2010 with the 1960 US Olympic team, and he also served as president of the National Basketball Players Association. He was named to the NBA's 35th, 50th and 75th anniversary teams, entered the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2009, and has the national college player of the year award, the Oscar Robertson Trophy, named in his honor. He brings history and leadership to every room.
