Book Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, nicknamed the Dirt Band, grew out of Long Beach, California, where Jeff Hanna and Jimmie Fadden started it in 1966. Early work leaned on jug band and folk traditions, and the group had its first hit with "Buy for Me the Rain" in 1967. Their cover of "Mr. Bojangles" became a pop hit in 1970, and "Fishin' in the Dark" became their signature song. The landmark album Will the Circle Be Unbroken in 1972 united them with country and bluegrass legends, and they released a Volume Two in 1989. The group has made 28 studio albums, from their 1967 debut to Dirt Does Dylan in 2022, and won 3 Grammy Awards from 9 nominations, for Will the Circle Be Unbroken, Volume Two, The Valley Road and "Earl's Breakdown". The current lineup of Jeff Hanna, his son Jaime Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter, Ross Holmes and Jim Photoglo has been together since 2018, delivering a warm acoustic-driven live show.
