Book Miko Marks

Miko Marks is an Oakland-based Americana singer, born in Flint, Michigan, whose rich, soulful voice bridges classic country, gospel and blues. She got her start in Nashville during the early 2000s with the single "Freeway Bound" (2005) and the album of the same name, followed by the singles "Kickin' Back," "Mama" and "Don't Come Cryin' to Me" in 2006. The video for "Mama," her first, featured a guest turn from Erykah Badu. Her second album, It Feels Good (2007), was led by "Locked and Loaded," and both early records were produced by Ron Cornelius. In 2006 the New Music Weekly Awards honored her as Best New Country Artist. Following a long break from the studio, she returned with Our Country (2021) and Feel Like Going Home (2022), cut with her band the Resurrectors, and first stepped onto the Grand Ole Opry stage on October 14, 2022. Inspired by her mother's fight for equal rights, she is recognized for helping open doors for Black women in country music. On stage, Marks delivers powerhouse vocals and deeply felt songs backed by a soulful, roots-driven band.
