Book Michael Crawford

Michael Crawford, an actor, comedian and singer from England, rose from television comedy to the summit of musical theatre. As a boy soprano he performed in Benjamin Britten's Let's Make an Opera and Noye's Fludde, and he went on to become a household name as the accident-prone Frank Spencer in the sitcom Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. On film he played Cornelius Hackl in Hello, Dolly! and appeared in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1972). His defining role was the title character in The Phantom of the Opera, a performance that won him both the Laurence Olivier Award and the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical, the latter in 1988. As a recording artist he has released nine studio albums, including Songs From the Stage and Screen (1987), Michael Crawford Performs Andrew Lloyd Webber (1991), A Touch of Music in the Night (1993), On Eagle's Wings (1998) and The Disney Album (2001), earning two Grammy nominations. He is a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, wrote the memoir Parcel Arrived Safely: Tied With String, and brings a rich theatrical voice to any concert hall.
