Book Mekhi Phifer

Mekhi Phifer is an American actor whose career spans three decades of film and television. He broke through in 1994 when, as a Columbia University engineering student, he answered an open casting call for Spike Lee and won the lead in Clockers ahead of a crowd of 1,000-plus hopefuls. He went on to roles in Soul Food (1997), the comedy High School High and the horror sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and he co-starred with Eminem in 8 Mile in 2002. That same year he appeared in Paid in Full (2002). Television audiences know him best as Dr. Greg Pratt on NBC's ER, a role he played from 2002 to 2008. He later took on the part of CIA officer Rex Matheson in Torchwood: Miracle Day in 2011, joined Showtime's House of Lies as a recurring player in 2013, and starred alongside Frank Grillo and Andy Garcia in the action film Long Gone Heroes in 2024. Phifer brings screen credibility, warmth and real-world stories from a long Hollywood run to any audience.
