Book Massive Attack
Massive Attack is a Bristol collective of musicians and artists that helped define trip hop, blending hip-hop beats, dub bass, soul and moody electronics. The group formed in 1988 around Robert "3D" Del Naja and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall, who now lead it, with Adrian "Tricky" Thaws and Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles among the early members. Blue Lines in 1991 introduced "Unfinished Sympathy," followed by Protection in 1994, Mezzanine in 1998 with "Teardrop," "Angel," "Risingson" and "Inertia Creeps," then 100th Window in 2002 and Heligoland in 2010, five albums in all. Guest vocalists have included Elizabeth Fraser and Tracey Thorn. "Teardrop" became widely known as a television theme. Live, the group combines dense visuals, political messaging and rotating guest singers into an immersive, cinematic production that has anchored festival bills and arena tours for decades.
