Book Los Lobos
Los Lobos hail from East Los Angeles, and their rock sound is flavored with Tex-Mex, country, zydeco, blues, folk and traditional Mexican styles. Their international breakthrough came in 1987 when their version of "La Bamba" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Albums such as How Will the Wolf Survive? in 1984 and Kiko in 1992 established their reputation for invention, and their 21 studio albums span rock, Latin and Americana. Robert Plant, Waylon Jennings and Elvis Costello have all recorded their songs. Los Lobos has won four Grammy Awards from 12 nominations, including Best Pop Instrumental Performance for "Mariachi Suite" and Best Americana Album for Native Sons in 2021. They received the Billboard Latin Music Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001, the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 and the Americana Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance in 2015, and joined the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame in 2018 and the California Hall of Fame in 2024.
