Book Lorraine Bracco

Lorraine Bracco is an American actress celebrated for two of the most indelible characters in crime storytelling. She played Karen Hill opposite Ray Liotta in Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas (1990), a performance that brought her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She then spent eight years as psychiatrist Dr. Jennifer Melfi on HBO's The Sopranos, the sessions with Tony Soprano becoming the emotional spine of the series; the cast twice won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Before Hollywood, Bracco worked as a fashion model in France and acted in European films, and she also spent time as a disc jockey on Radio Luxembourg. Her American film credits include The Pick-up Artist (1987), Someone to Watch Over Me (1987), Sing (1989) and The Dream Team (1989), and more recently she voiced a role in Pinocchio (2022). Across her career she has collected nominations for an Oscar, four Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes. Candid, funny and full of stories from the sets of two classics, Bracco is an engaging speaker on acting, reinvention and working with some of the great directors of her era.
