Book Lauren Hutton

Lauren Hutton is an American model and actress whose natural style and famous gap-toothed smile changed the look of the fashion world. Raised in the American South, she moved to New York in the mid-1960s, took the name Lauren Hutton and set out to model, ignoring agents who urged her to hide her teeth. By 1968 she was photographed by Richard Avedon for a Chanel advertisement, and in 1973 she signed with Revlon in what was then the largest contract the modeling industry had ever seen. Her film career began the same era with Paper Lion (1968) opposite Alan Alda, and she went on to central roles in The Gambler (1974) and American Gigolo (1980), with later work including 54 (1998). On television she appeared in Paper Dolls, Falcon Crest, Central Park West and Nip/Tuck. Hutton kept modeling well into her seventies, fronting ads for Alexander Wang, H&M and Lord and Taylor and walking for Tom Ford in 2012 and Bottega Veneta in 2016. She was inducted into the Women Divers Hall of Fame in 2007. Hutton speaks with candor on beauty, confidence and aging on her own terms.
