Book Kitarō
Kitarō, born Masanori Takahashi in 1953, is a Japanese musician, composer, producer and arranger whose electronic-instrumental recordings made him a leading name in new-age music. His career began with the album Ten Kai in 1978, and he has since released twenty-eight studio albums. His 1999 album Thinking of You took the Grammy for best new age album, and he has been nominated many times, including in 1988, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1998 and 2002. His film work earned a Golden Globe for original score in 1994 and the Golden Horse Award for best original film score in 1997. Kitarō is known for serene, spiritual soundscapes that blend synthesizers with traditional instruments, and his concerts are calm, immersive experiences with lush visuals that suit audiences who enjoy unhurried, meditative music.
