Book Kip Winger

Kip Winger is the American singer, bassist, songwriter and composer best known as the frontman of the rock band Winger. Born in Denver to musician parents, he began studying classical music at 16 after hearing Debussy, Ravel and Stravinsky in ballet class, played the local bar circuit with his brothers, and later moved to New York to study composition. His first big break came co-writing "Bang Bang" for Kix's Midnite Dynamite in 1984, and he gained wider notice playing bass in Alice Cooper's band on Constrictor (1986) and Raise Your Fist and Yell (1987). Alongside Winger, he has built a solo rock career with This Conversation Seems like a Dream (1997), Down Incognito (1997), Songs From the Ocean Floor (2000) and From the Moon to the Sun (2008), gathered in the Solo Box Set Collection (2018). As a contemporary classical composer he released Conversations With Nijinsky / Ghosts / A Parting Grace in 2016. Few rock frontmen move as comfortably between arena anthems and orchestral writing, and his performances showcase soaring vocals, melodic bass playing and a deep songwriting craft.
